Mozambique: Parliament Speaker Talapa visits Russia

The Zambézia Provincial Election Commission (CNE) has for the third time returned the applications submitted by the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) for members of the Provincial Assembly because of irregularities it found, Radio Mozambique has reported.
The MDM went to back to the Provincial Election Commission on Wednesday for its third attempt to register candidates for the Provincial Assembly in the 15 October elections, party representative Celestino Martins disclosed.
On Monday, the Provincial Election Commission found irregularities including divergences between names on ID cards and voter and criminal record cards, and failure to fill in some forms.
By yesterday, the MDM had failed to remedy the irregularities.
The deadline for the submission of nominations to members of the Provincial Assembly is tomorrow, Thursday.
