Brazilian judge places ex-president Bolsonaro under house arrest
Two Mozambicans have been detained at the first police station in Maputo on charges of trafficking in ivory.
According to the police, the three ivory tips were hidden in the vehicle they were being transported in. Bernardo Armando, one of those indicted, says that he was just the driver and did not know he was transporting any tusks.
The other detainee, Mateus Nununes, has confessed his involvement and adds that got involved in the business via Facebook.
Maputo police spokesman Leonel Muchina says the detention of the two individuals came about as a result of coordinated work within the corporation.
At the same press conference, the police also presented significant quantities of dried seahorses and shark fins found in the possession of a Chinese women about to board a plane to her homeland.
