Angola, Moçambique governments to sign five agreements
The Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) has scheduled for this afternoon the announcement of the preliminary results of the municipal elections in Moatize and in Tete City.
For Moatize the ceremony is scheduled for 3:00 pm local time.
For the city of Tete, it is scheduled for 4 pm.
Yesterday RENAMO called the press to say that it won the ballot in the municipalities of Moatize, with 11,169 votes, which corresponds to 52%, against 9,794 votes for FRELIMO (45%).
In Tete, the largest opposition party in Mozambique says it has an advantage of 41,477 votes (53.42%) against 31,102 (41.7%) of FRELIMO.
Some residents heard by the DW this morning in the city of Tete are worried about the delay in announcing the results and fear that this may cause embarrassment in the progress made in the dialogue for peace in the country.
