Mozambique's Police Commander-in-Chief - Bernardino Rafael
Mozambique’s Police Commander-in-Chief, Bernardino Rafael, has made his debut as an author. Entitled “The Marks of a Crime Never Forgotten”, his book, with a preface by President Nyusi, was presented to an invited audience of 3,000 in the pavilion of the Maxaquene club in Maputo.
The nine-chapter, 268-page book has been written over the past 24 years and portrays different contexts in the author’s career-long fight against crime. And because the inspiration for its writing comes from within the family, the author’s daughter welcomed the book in a speech.
Rafael highlights crucial moments in a career spanning four decades since his training in Matalane. And in a compassionate touch, the book pays public tribute to some of the families who have been victims of crime over that period.
Bernardino Rafael was born on June 16, 1960, in Mueda. He holds a Master’s degree in Forensic Public Legal Sciences from the Alberto Chipande Institute of Sciences and Technology. Rafael was promoted to Police Commander on October 26, 2017.
