Natural gas pipelines have now reached Maputo’s Aeroporto neighbourhood. Thirty-five homes now have potential supply, with only the connection itself lacking.
According to the National Hydrocarbons Company, there has been a primary gas distribution network since 2014.
Aeroporto resident Jéssica Raimundo has a memorandum of understanding signed last July with ENH confirming the gas pipeline. She understands gas well, having trained in gas management, and is excited about having gas on tap in her home.
Mozambique has more than 20 years of experience in the distribution of gas to households, starting in the north of Inhambane, where ENH’s project currently benefits a total of 1,530 consumers.
