10h04 am was announced the entrance of the President of the Republic to the room of the Assembly of the Republic.
Veronica Macamo, following the order of the protocol, greeted everyone present, invited them to take their seats and followed the attendance marking. Macamo confirmed the presence of half of deputies and declared the solemn session open – in accordance with the statutes governing the Assembly of the Republic.
“The House of the People is in celebration because it waits for the report of the President of the Republic”, said Macamo.
Macamo said that everyone in that room felt truly proud of the presence of the Head of State. Nyusi’s visit to the Vatican and his meeting with the Pope were highlighted as signs that the president maintains a commitment to search for effective peace.
“Nyusi’s pragmatic vision of promoting employment for all, gender and their commitment recently to transforming the SADC Forum into the Regional Parliament are some worthy examples.”
“Effective Peace Builder in Mozambique” was how Veronica Macamo referred minutes before inviting the president to the podium to proceed with the report to the Nation.
“The People’s House encourages the effective peacemaker to pursue the pursuit of peace throughout the country and to continue the disarmament and integration of Renamo’s armed men.”
