Chinese heavy sands mining company TZM Resources is expected to begin operations in Pebane district, Zambézia province, in the coming months. The installation and testing of equipment is in the final phase.
Initially, the start of operations was scheduled for the end of last year, but this was delayed because testing of the machinery took longer than expected.
Pebane district administrator Eduardo Vida told Noticias that “the start of activities will not take long, especially since the company’s working site, port and camp are already ready”.
Without giving specific dates, the Pebane administrator said that the project, the second of its kind in the district, would soon have the approval of the authorities and, once underway, would boost development and generate jobs.
