Mozambique Elections: Greater Maputo region calm and without public transport

Registration of political parties, coalitions of political parties and groups of citizens wishing to run for the fifth local elections scheduled for 10 October begins on Friday.
According to the electoral calendar approved by political parties, civil society and others, the registration of candidacies and the submission of applications closes on 15 June.
Submissions to the National Elections Commission (CNE) to accredit candidates’ representatives will take place from 1 to 15 June.
From 15 June to 19 July the CNE will assess the legality of denominations, acronyms and symbols, as well as their identity or similarity with those of other political parties, coalitions of political parties or citizens’ groups.
The announcement of approved registrations will take place within three days, with 24 hours for appeal against the body’s decisions. The presentation and verification of applications will run from June 21 to July 27, and accepted applications will be posted from July 28 on.
