Galp Mozambique has renewed its support for the International Association of Students of Economic and Business Sciences (AIESEC) for the 2024 cycle. The company’s main objective is to support AIESEC in realising the academic, professional and personal potential of Mozambican youth. The company believes that valuing young people, aligning academic qualifications with the job market, is essential for Mozambique’s prosperity.
The partnership, concluded during the 10th edition of the Partnership Breakfast, provides for the hiring of national interns (Local Internship Program), the company’s involvement in AIESEC’s social responsibility programs, networking possibilities between Galp professionals and AIESEC members in conferences, events, workshops, as well as training and youth development sessions.
“Galp is committed to the development of Mozambican youth, from school to universities, to the job market. Ensuring an alignment between skills and employment is essential. With AIESEC, we are not just qualifying human capital or capturing talent: we have the privilege of working with the business and social leaders of the future”, points out Cláudia Ngwenya, responsible for the Marketing and Communication areas at Galp Moçambique
Galp Moçambique participated in several AIESEC events, also promoting four workshops: Sales and Negotiation; Career and Personal Development; Organizational Culture; and Personal Branding. Initiatives that reached more than 250 young people, including training and social responsibility programs, and which culminated in the integration of young AIESEC alumni into Galp’s staff.
The President of AIESEC, Natacha Chemane, considers that “the Partnership Breakfast allowed the celebration and strengthening of our partnerships that make the work that AIESEC has developed in Mozambique possible. Every year we get together to hold this event, the main objective of which is to reinforce our commitment to making AIESEC a reference association in professional development and, based on our programs, we can provide an environment with practical and quality experiences for young people through the passage of testimony between the teams”.
The Partnership Breakfast is an accountability session on AIESEC’s activities and brought together members of the Government, media, companies and alumni members of the advisory board and honorary committee represented by the former President of the Republic of Mozambique, Joaquim Alberto Chissano.
