Meeting on Wednesday (13-12) in its 18th Ordinary Session, the Frelimo Political Commission saluted voters in the municipality of Marromeu and in some polling stations in Gurue, Milange and Nacala Porto, where voting was repeated on December 10.
“The Political Commission salutes the voters of Marromeu, Gúruè, Milange and Nacala-Porto municipalities, who once again cast their vote of confidence for Frelimo, in the repeat vote on December 10th, whose partial results give victory to Frelimo,” a press release issued by the commission indicates.
The document also thanks party members for their commitment to ensuring Frelimo’s victory.
“The Political Commission is grateful for the massive and proactive involvement of members, Frelimo supporters and the population in general, in the voting process in the VI municipal elections, on October 11 of this year, which culminated in the Party’s victory in 56 of the 65 Local authorities, which represents an increase of around 10% in the result, in relation to the 2018 elections, according to the approval made by the Constitutional Council. It reiterates his congratulations to the winning Parties in the other municipalities and considers this exercise as another moment of consolidation of our young multi-party democracy,” it reads.
