After six months, Expo Dubai 2020 has finally closed its doors. Mozambique was among the 192 countries participating in the event, which was attended by more than 23 million people. The country displayed its potential in several areas, having managed to reach 572,813 visitors.
“Of the approximately 500,000 persons who visited our pavilion, we had a good percentage of people who were interested in the business environment in Mozambique and in the offers that the country has in terms of investments,” said Miguel Costa Mkaima, Mozambique’s commissioner-general at Expo Dubai 2020.
During the event, Mozambique was largely dedicated to business, which, for the director of the Mozambican pavilion, represents a plus for the country.
“We talked at Expo Dubai 2020 about the variety of products we have in the export area. We were also talking about the best tourist destination, which Mozambique is, and its variety of business opportunities,” stressed Sozinho Boane, director of the Mozambique pavilion.
Visitors to Expo Dubai 2020 say they had a remarkable experience and were fascinated by the content on display in the Mozambique pavilion.
“It’s a beautiful place, I enjoyed being here. What attracted me most was the musical instrument – the timbila. I would love to play one one day. The Expo is a fantastic place, which shows the whole world in one place without spending a lot of money,” visitor Ameen Hassan said.
“The pavilion is very beautiful, the colours are attractive. The assistants were friendly and told us how safe it is to travel to Mozambique, see the animals, and swim with dolphins. This is very exciting,” said another visitor, Cheryl Venettozzi.
The organisation of Expo 2020 Dubai passes the baton to the next world exhibition which will take place in Osaka, Japan, in 2025.
