Mozambique: We use 'legitimate means' to disperse protesters - police

The house of Manuel de Araujo’s mother was set on fire early this morning by individuals so far unidentified.
A guard at the house of the house of the mother of Manuel de Araújo – Quelimane mayor and head of Renamo list for the post of governor of Zambezia – said the attack took place shortly after 1:00 a.m.. He says he saw five men, presumed to be the protagonists.
Araujo arrived on the scene minutes later.
The arsonists are reported to have broken in at around 1 a.m..
After breaking in, the arsonists overcame the security guard and tied him up, then took twenty-litre gasoline containers and poured most of the contents in the area of the owners’ bedroom.
Damage, particularly to the house’s wiring, is extensive.
Manuel de Araújo says the attack is politically motivated and accuses Frelimo of being behind it, declaring: “I want to loudly accuse the highest magistrates in the nation, who have not at any time publicly dismissed persecution of Renamo members who are being assaulted by Frelimo militants.”
