Sporting resumes talks with Amora over Geny Catamo transfer
Mozambican judo champion Kevin Loforte has won bronze at the African Championship in Cairo, Egypt.
Fighting in the under 66 kg category, the youth squad judoka fulfilled expectations, being thought the likeliest of Mozambique’s eight entrants to win a medal.
More medals are expected to emerge in the coming days.
The team consists of Samuel Joaquim (-55 kg), Hélder Martins (-90 kg), Mauro Nassone (-60 kg), Daniel Bernardo (-66 kg), Ayton Siquir (-73 kg), Artur Junior (-60 kg) and Jacira Ferreira (-52 kg), the latter being the only female in the team.
General Secretary of the Mozambican Judo Federation Nilton Muito heads the delegation, and has emphasized the intention to win medals.
“We’re going to win medals. This is our goal. We want a good performance to justify the support we have had participating in the African, which was only possible thanks to our partners Engen, Lúcio Construções and other friends of the sport,” he said.
