Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Oldemiro Baloi, yesterday granted an audience to a delegation from the Defence and Security Commission of the Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique, the parties exchanged views on the political situation of both countries and the international scene.
At the meeting held yesterday in Maputo, the parties discussed mechanisms to strengthen cooperation at the political and governmental levels.
The head of Mozambican diplomacy acknowledged the excellent level of bilateral political relations and announced that the two countries would convene a Joint Commission next year. He also revealed that economic diplomacy prioritises to bilateral cooperation.
The six-member delegation, led by the chairman of Russia’s Federation Council Defence and Security Committee, Viktor Bondarev, is making a four-day visit to the country, which ends today (Thursday).
