Mozambique and International Energy Agency strengthen cooperation - AIM

Mark Iozzi, U.S. National Security Advisor and Counsel to U.S. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, made the remarks during the working visit he made to the Secretary of State of Nampula province Mety Gondola this Tuesday (25-10).
Concerned with terrorism, nutrition, the contours of the war in Ukraine and natural disasters, Iozzi and his team travelled to Nampula privince to experience the current situation first-hand and hear from the Secretary of State Gondola in person.
The two-day visit aimed, among other goals, to better appreciate the contours of local terrorism, given that the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee has implemented actions aimed at maintaining peace and reconciliation in the world.
Iozzi congratulated the provincial government and Secretary of State Gondola on the efforts of the province’s Emergency Operative Council, which Gondola leads, to solve the problems linked to the phenomena mentioned above.

Mety Gondola noted that, if Cabo Delgado is not at peace, the whole country lacks tranquillity, autonomy and well-being, undermining development as a whole. In this context, he mentioned the risks of increased child labour and psychological trauma, the need for safe housing and a series of other challenges to be taken into account in the province.
