Police have detained three individuals accused of stealing cables and other material on the newly opened Maputo-Catembe bridge, which cost over US$700 million.
Arrests follow one another in quick succession, but it appears that they are not yet deterring assaults on the bridge.
Armed with the tools shown, the men were caught by police allegedly attempting to steal electrical cables on the bridge.
Copper and aluminium are attractive targets for criminals, and successful thefts blacked the Maputo-Catembe bridge out twice in the first half of the year.
