The Mafambisse sugar mill [Açucareira de Moçambique], in Dondo district, Sofala province, will no longer be closing its doors, Radio Mozambique reports.
This guarantee was given in Manhiça district, Maputo province, on Tuesday by the milling operations director at Tongaat Hullet, the largest shareholder at Açucareira de Mafambisse.
A series of measures have been taken to revitalise the plant, as well as to train workers for a more streamlined production process, and the re-start in Mafambisse is scheduled for April this year.
The Mafambisse mill expects to produce around 38,000 tons of sugar this year.
