Over six lions are on the loose from Kruger National Park, located in the border between Mozambique and South Africa, causing panic in nearby settlements of Mabane, Jone and Chabane in Sunduíne, Maputo Province.
So far, the lions have reportedly killed ten heads of cattle in the three villages.
The result is said to be the destruction of the security barriers of the National Park by poachers and some illegal loggers.
Data was provided by the Wildlife Fauna Head of the Provincial Directorate of Land, Environment and Rural Development in Maputo, Elisa Mapulasse.
“The lions here in Mozambique end up attacking cattle that are in the pens,” he said.
