The Mozambican government wants to accelerate economic cooperation with Korea, Canada, Egypt, Brazil, Ghana, Seychelles, Austria, Pakistan and Gabon, foreign affairs minister José Pacheco has said.
The intention was expressed in Maputo on Wednesday during the presentation of credentials by heads of the diplomatic and consular missions of the nine alluded countries.
The new countries should favour trade, says Pacheco, and the attraction of private investments to Mozambique.
“The fundamental goal is to accelerate economic and trade cooperation. There is a wide range of opportunities for Mozambican products to be exported to the markets of these nine countries and vice versa. The emphasis on private investment was basically geared towards attracting investment, encouraging more exchanges of Mozambican business delegations to these countries and from those countries to Mozambique for the establishment of bilateral partnerships between our entrepreneurs and those countries,” Pacheco said.
The credentials of the nine diplomatic and consular missions were received by Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi.
