The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) is forecasting a heatwave with temperatures ranging from 34 to 41 degrees and gusts of wind from today until Wednesday, with peak daytime temperatures of between 37 to 41 degrees in Maputo and Gaza provinces.
Maputo and Gaza provinces will be worst affected, and especially Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude and Manhiça districts and Maputo and Matola cities.
In Gaza province, high temperatures will be felt in Massangena, Chicualacuala, Chigubo, Mabalane, Massingir, Guijá, Chibuto, Mandlakazi and the cities of Chókwé and Xai-Xai.
INAM warns the public to take precautions against risks associated with high temperatures.
