The city of Maputo is labouring under an outbreak of flu, characterised by high fever and headaches, with cases increasing in recent days. Folha de Maputo reports today.
Health authorities in the capital are advising people to take preventive measures, to avoid the spread of the disease.
The head of the Department of Public Health in Maputo city, Bélia Nhambir, says the outbreak may be related to the change of season.
Nhambir stresses the need for citizens to redouble their preventive efforts in view of the high risk of the outbreak spreading, and calls on people to go to health units immediately if they experience flu symptoms such as high fevers and headaches.
