Cooperatives are advocating joint action by Mozambican SMEs to capture business opportunities in the oil and gas sector next year.
However, the lack of regulation limits its operations, the Executive Director of the Mozambican Association for the Promotion of Modern Cooperativeness (AMPCM) has said, according to the press.
Cecílio Valentim also said cooperatives could be the “best weapon” for capturing business opportunities from oil companies from 2019 onwards.
Regarding the volume of business of Mozambican cooperatives, Valentim was sad at the lack of statistical data.
The AMPCM was founded in 2010 and currently has around 600 affiliated cooperatives.
