The Bank of Mozambique will complete the modernization of its electronic payment system next year, to counter possible cyber threats in the country.
The program will allow financial operations anywhere in the country or in the world to take place safely.
The goal was conceived in the light of the bank’s strategic plan 2022-2023, which advocates the modernisation and improvement of the electronic payments system for all subsidiaries.
The guarantee was given in the city of Tete on Thursday by Rogério Zandamela, governor of the Central Bank [Bank of Mozambique], at the opening of the third meeting of the directors of the institution’s branches.
Zandamela said that the central bank had made conspicuous progress in the handling of checks to other countries in the world, thanks to the modernization of the payment system.
The one-day meeting addressed five topics relevant to security and the financial system modernization strategy in Mozambique.
