The Mozambican government wants to see 115,000 students in technical education by 2024, within the framework of the government’s Technical-Vocational Education Strategy, Council of Ministers spokeswoman Ana Comoana announced yesterday.
The Mozambican government hopes to build 19 new technical education institutions and rehabilitate another 16 in the same period, she added.
In total, according to official data, Mozambique currently has 85,113 students in technical education.
The strategy announced yesterday comes as part of the restructuring of Mozambican technical education to adapt it to the needs of the extractive industry, an area in which the country has discovered strong potential in recent years.
