Mozambique: At least two Naparamas killed in Angoche - AIM report

A mob in Morrua in Zambezia’s Mulevala district vandalised their community leader’s home early on Saturday morning for his alleged connection with the ‘bloodsucker’ scare that has been disturbing the peace there recently.
The public in Mulevala also tried to vandalise the police station and healthcare centre.
District permanent secretary Abdul Jamal said that the disturbance on Saturday arose from a misconception that health personnel spraying to combat malaria were scouting the area for bloodsucking victims.
Jamal said a team was working to correct misunderstandings and appealed to the public to be on guard against disinformation likely to threaten good relations in the area.
