Chapo calls on young Mozambicans to build economic independence

Renamo district political delegate in Gorongosa, and 53 other members have left Renamo and joined Frelimo, Rádio Moçmbique reports today.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Renamo’s former political delegate Isac Zeca promised to do his best for his new party.
“I was Renamo’s official representative [mandatário], but I had no income, and was totally stagnant, like water which neither comes nor goes, and that is not right… I started working within Renamo 20 years ago and, in 2012, with the confidence of the party itself, was appointed Gorongosa district political delegate. But I always questioned where I’m going to and where I’m coming from. So, I’ve left Renamo, and I don’t want to know any more. I see that we cannot live in a country with constant friction. All Mozambicans want peace,” he said.
The first Frelimo secretary in Gorongosa, Paulo Quembo, greeted the newly affiliated, emphasising that Frelimo was always open to good people and adding that all the new ex-Renamo members were being integrated into party organs.
According to Community Radio of Gorongosa (see Facebook post below) Isaque Zeca “handed himsefl over to Frelimo” on April 7, akong with 29 other Renamo members.
Meanwhile, on April 16, the Frelimo party in Gorongosa announced on its Facebook page (see below) it had received at its district headquarters, “19 Renamo rennouncers, among them the secretary of district organisation, head of relations, the Deputy Director of STAE, a guerrilla woman from the 16-year-war, all with their respective wives and children, including the materials they used there.”. The posts states that all preventative mesasures against Covid-19 were observed and adds: “It should be noted that last week the District delegate of this party also joined our glorious FRELIMO party”.

Em Sofala, o delegado político distrital da Renamo, em Gorongosa, Isac Zeca e outros 53 membros abandonaram o Partido e filiaram-se à FRELIMO.
Falando em representação do grupo, o delegado político da Renamo, prometeu dar o seu melhor para o crescimento do seu novo partido, a Frelimo.
“Ernesto Angelino, eu exercia como mandatário, mas não tinha rendimento, totalmente estagnado como água que nem vem nem vai, tudo está no mesmo sítio e isso não fica bem… comecei a trabalhar há 20 anos dentro do partido Renamo e em 2012, pela confiança do próprio Partido, fui nomeado como delegado político distrital de Gorongosa, mas sempre eu estive a processar onde eu estou ir e onde estou a sair, então deixei mesmo a Renamo, não quero perceber mais. Para mim estou a ver que não podemos viver neste país em problema, todos os moçambicanos querem a paz” disse.
