BCI (Banco Comercial e de Investimentos) has announced that, in view of the recent evolution of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), it is following strictly all recommendations of national and international health authorities in this matter.
Prevention and safety measures covering employees and the relationship with customers have been implemented, ensuring continuity of banking services.
Among the initiatives taken is a limit on the number of customers simultaneously present inside any branch of the bank, in order to guarantee the recommended social distance.
Hygiene has also been reinforced, conditions for the requisite physical distance between people created and sanitisation made available to employees and customers in public service spaces.
Awareness-raising and internal communication campaigns were initiated, with the emphasis on adopting hygiene routines and abstaining from risky behaviour both inside and outside the bank network, along with prompt reaction to any symptoms of infection.
Face-to-face meetings are being limited to those strictly necessary, rather prioritising contact by telephone or other remote channels, while all public events planned for BCI spaces have been postponed.
BCI has also boosted the capacity of alternative channels, such as its network of ATM, POS and alternative platforms such as Whatsapp Daki and Celular Daki (*124#) which, along with card payment and other digital means, enable banking operations to be carried out in a convenient and safe way, without going into a branch.
