Renamo – Mozambique’s largest opposition party – says it is open for the restart of the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR) of its remaining men under arms, Radio Mozambique reports.
Renamo Secretary General André Magibire said in Maputo yesterday (Thursday) that the party believed the DDR process would facilitate the dignified social reintegration of its men.
“At this moment, preparations for the uninterrupted start of the disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration process are underway. By this, we mean that we are open for the DDR process to restart as soon as possible, and we call on the government and the Contact Group to see that it is speeded up, so that our brothers may return to family life and be reintegrated into society with all the dignity they are entitled to,” Magjibire said.
