Mozambique: ENI Open Day
I run for water for Everyone
Join WaterAid Mozambique to celebrate World Hand Wash Day and help the community of Mulinda in the Province of Niassa by raising funds for a new water well.
Mulinda is a remote rural community situated in Insaca, in the district of Mecanhelas, Niassa Province. The community comprises 146 families – an average of 730 people. The community consumes dirty water from Muchimazi River, situated 4 kilometres away.
It is the only water source available. Throughout its existence, the community has never had a secure water supply. In addition to being shared with cattle, the water is used for drinking, washing clothes and bathing - a situation conducive to the outbreak of water-borne diseases such as dysentery and cholera.
