Restaurant
The Canimambo restaurant is the culinary jewel of Macaneta, attracting visitors and residents from around the island, Maputo and an international and South African clientele.
With our name coming from the Shangaan word meaning ‘Thank You’, we have a Mozambican style menu offering traces of a Portuguese heritage.
Canimambo provides an array of delicacies and meals designed to cater for young and old. Sourcing our quality ingredients from only the freshest available from the markets and the local fisherman, Canimambo is a must visit for the day-tripper, holidaymaker and tourist alike.
Managed and run entirely by an enthusiastic team of locals, guests can partake in a light breakfast, a snack on the run, or a seafood delicacy fit for a king! We also have an extensive kiddies menu as well as a range of titbits for the not so hungry.
Our fish is seasonal and sourced directly from the catches of the local fisherman so the menu may vary, but Pau, Trinchado and Portuguese Chicken amongst others are always in abundance, as are our signature Canimambo Coconut cocktails and the ever popular Mozambican Rum & Raspberry.
Both Metical and Rands are accepted and prices are quoted in both. Although we have had offers for trade exchanges for goats, chickens and even a 4×4, Canimambo is a cash only establishment.
Peruse our menu, ask your waiter for the daily specials, or speak to our host Beto about what the kitchen has up their sleeve on any given day – you simply won’t be disappointed.
