Zimbabwe reach first Rugby World Cup since 1991
The groups claim Patson Dzamara was punched, kicked and forced to drink a lot of water by security agents.
Rights groups in Zimbabwe have condemned a reported assault on Patson Dzamara, the brother of a missing rights activist.
Dzamara held up a placard at Monday’s official Independence Day celebrations in Harare demanding to know where his brother Itai was.
The Zimbabwe Human Rights Association says Dzamara was punched, kicked and forced to drink a lot of water by state security agents.
Like his brother Itai, Dzamara staged a lone protest, this time holding up a placard in front of the VIP tent where President Robert Mugabe was seated at the National Sports Stadium.
Itai, a Zimbabwean activist, was abducted 13 months ago from a barber shop in Harare and has not been seen since.
The Occupy Africa Unity Square Group has described the assault on his brother as sadistic.
