President Emmerson Mnangagwa said the renewed lockdown will be stringently enforced by the country’s security forces, including the military and police.
Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has declared renewed COVID-19 lockdown rules, imposing a 12-hour curfew to be effective starting Wednesday from 6pm to 6am local time.
He said the renewed lockdown will be stringently enforced by the country’s security forces, including the military and police.
Activists, however, believe the move is a bid to thwart anti-corruption protests planned for July 31, a charge that the country’s Information Secretary Nick Mangwana denies.
