Prime Minister Carlos Agostinho do Rosário is recommending that the Zambézia provincial government survey its road infrastructure for inclusion in the document to be presented to international donors in May.
Speaking at a press conference in Quelimane on Thursday after visiting the districts of Namacurra and Maganja da Costa and chairing a meeting at the Emergency Operations Centre, the prime minister said road infrastructure was the backbone of socio-economic development.
“Zambézia cannot develop without the villages. The blood of the economy circulates in the villages. The villages, in this case and in this province, are the roads and bridges,” he said.
Carlos Agostinho do Rosário expressed satisfaction with how food distribution was proceeding, and the follow-up with affected families rebuilding houses in the province.
