One person died and four others are still missing as a result of four crocodile attacks that took place last Friday on the Chire River, Morrumbala district, in Zambezia.
The information was released on Tuesday to Rádio Moçambique by the maritime administrator in Zambézia, Augusto Dongo.
Dongo said that, despite traditional rituals carried out to put an end to the phenomenon, the tendency is for crocodile attacks to increase.
One of the crocodile attacks that took place on Friday involved a canoe, whose occupants managed to reach land safely.
The other crocodile attack involved a fish dealer, currently missing. The third culminated in the disappearance of three farmers, and the last one targeted the fisherman whose body was found on Sunday.
