Water volumes in the Licungo River in Zambézia continue to rise, and could potentially devastate crops in the Namacurra and Maganja da Costa districts.
Director of the Licungo basin management division, Luís Migeia, said that the flow at the Mocuba hydrometric station was currently registering above the six metre alert level.
Migeia explained that the Licungo basin was receiving a lot of the rainwater which had fallen in Guruè, Namarrói and Lugela districts.
