Mozambique: Inhambane Provincial Hospital struggles with blood shortage

A major fire has destroyed part of the rice husking factory in Namacurra, Zambézia province.
The fire, which is presumed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit, was brought under control by Mozambique Electricity firefighters an hour after it started.
Witnesses said that this is the second fire at that plant, which has been closed since 2015.
The Namacurra rice processing plant belongs to the state. It was built about four years ago with US$9 million funding (about 54 million meticais).
The factory was expected to employ 160 workers, but, as a result of constant malfunctions and lack of raw materials, has never gone into operation.
