In the province of Zambézia, at least 45 schools out of the 82 that teach the first cycle of general secondary education resume Grade 10 face-to face classes this Monday, Rádio Moçambique reports.
The information was forwarded to Rádio Moçambique by the spokesman of the provincial Directorate of Education in Zambézia, Kaunda Mutekumala.
“There are 52 [schools] which teach the second cycle. So, if we are now saying that we currently have 45 schools in the second cycle which have already been approved – they have been teaching [Grade 12 classes] since the 1st of October, – we can quickly subtract from the 82 secondary schools these 45 which are teaching. Therefore, these are already in conditions, they are teaching. The classrooms for Grade 10 classes there have already been prepared,” he stressed.
Mutekumala said that the sector is awaiting authorisation for seven general high schools, previously prevented from resuming Grade 12 face-to-face classes due to non-compliance with the health protocol for the prevention of Covid-19.
