The World Bank announced in Pemba (Cabo Delgado) on Friday the disbursement of an additional US$100 million dollar fund for the Cabo Delgado reconstruction program.
The figure was announced by a team from the financial institution during a courtesy meeting with Valige Tauabo, governor of Cabo Delgado.
The amount assured by the World Bank team may be available this semester.
Tauabo has complained that the Provincial Executive Council (CEP) has been excluded from the process of implementing the post-terrorism reconstruction program, claiming that this violates the recommendation made by President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, when the Cabo Delgado reconstruction plan was launched in the city of Pemba last year.
