Woman detained with 12.4 kilograms of cocaine and ephedrine at Maputo airport

A 44-year-old woman was detained at Maputo International Airport on Sunday with 12.4 kilograms of cocaine and ephedrine in her luggage, officials said.
The detainee is from Sierra Leone, to which she was returning, according to Mozambican television.
The two banned substances were concealed inside one of the woman’s suitcases.
After being detained by the authorities, she said she had travelled to Maputo at the invitation of a friend, who asked her to take the suitcase, supposedly carrying baby clothes, back to Sierra Leone with her, and that she did not know what was inside the bag.
