World Bank urges fresh push on economic threat of pollution

Twenty-one inland districts of Gaza, Inhambane, Manica and Sofala provinces are expected to record moderate to heavy rains with gusting winds of up to 56 kilometres per hour, due to the formation and development of a low pressure system located in the border with Zimbabwe region.
According to a warning from the National Meteorological Institute (INAM), rainfall could reach between 30 and 50 millimetres in 24 hours, accompanied by severe thunderstorms and strong gusts of up to 56 kilometres per hour.
The districts affected are those of Massangena, Chicualacuala and Chigubona, in Gaza province, Mabote, Inhassoro, Funhalouro and Govuro in Inhambane province, and Machaze, Mossurize, Sussundenga, Manica, Báruè, Macossa, Guro, Tambara, Gondola and Chimoio city, in Manica province.
In the province of Sofala the districts affected will be: Machanga, Chibabava, Búzi and Nhamatanda.
INAM warns of the need to take precautionary and safety measures against the risk associated with heavy rains, lightning and strong gusts.
