Mozambique discards annually 116,000 tonnes of plastic

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) predicts moderate to strong rains (30 to 50 millimetres in 24 hours), locally strong rains (more than 50 millimetres in 24 hours), possibility of hail falls in Sofala and Manica, severe thunderstorms and moderate to strong winds that can reach up to 80 kilometres per hour from Friday afternoon in some regions of central and northern areas, including some districts of Inhambane province.
Risk areas:
Province of Inhambane (districts of Massinga, Vilankulo, Inhassorro and Govuro);
Sofala Province (All districts);
Province of Manica (All districts);
Province of Zambézia (districts of Morrumbala, Maganja da Costa, Nicoadala, Chinde, Mocuba, Gilé, Ile, Lugela, Milange, Namacurra, Mopeia and Quelimane);
Province of Tete (districts of Zumbo, Mutarara, Moatize, Chiúta, Cahora Bassa, Maravia, Mágoé, Changara and Tete).
Province of Nampula (districts of Malema, Ribáué, Morrupula, Mogovolas, Moma and Angoche).
Niassa Province (district of Mecanhelas, Cuamba, Mandimba and Metarica).
INAM recommends precautionary and safety measures in view of the risk associated with rainfall, thunderstorms and high winds.
