Weather alert: Strong winds in Southern and Central Mozambique

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) predicts winds gusting up to 70 kilometres per hour from this afternoon on.
Winds could affect the districts of Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Manhiça and the cities of Maputo and Matola. In Gaza province, Bilene, Chibuto, Chicualacuala, Chokwe, Guijá, Massingir, Mabalane, Mandlakazi and the city of Xai-Xai are at risk.
Tomorrow, the same weather system will affect Inhambane province (Zavala, Inharrime Panda Jangamo, Homoíne, Funhalouro, Morrumbene, Massinga and the cities of Vilankulo and Inhambane) and Sofala province (Machanga, Chibabava, Buzi and Beira).
INAM advises people to take precautionary and safety measures against the risks associated with strong winds.
