Mozambique: Nights will be warmer this winter - INAM

Heavy rains, severe thunderstorms and gusty winds will continue to batter the provinces of Sofala, Manica, Zambézia and the districts of Cuamba, Metarica, Mecanhelas, Mandimba, Chimbunila and Lago (Niassa province) today, Wednesday March 20.
For the south, the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) forecasts intense heat, with maximum temperatures ranging from 38 to 41 degrees Celsius and winds with gusts up to 50 kilometres per hour in the districts of Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude, Manhiça and the cities of Maputo and Matola (in Maputo Province); in the districts of Massangena, Chicualacuala, Chigubo, Mabalane, Massingir, Guijá, Bilene, Mapai, Limpopo, Chongoene, Chibuto, Mandlakazi and the cities of Chókwé and Xai-Xai in Gaza; and in the districts of Mabote, Funhalouro, Panda and Inharrime in Inhambane Province.
Niassa, Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces will be mostly cloudy with showers or weak rainfall locally and thunderstorms possible, mainly in Nampula and Niassa. Wind from northeast to northwest weak to moderate, with occasional gusts.
For the provinces of Tete, Zambézia, Manica and Sofala the INAM forecasts heavy cloud with showers or moderate to heavy rains in Sofala and Manica, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms. Wind from northeast to southwest weak to moderate, with occasional gusts.
