The National Meteorological Institute (INAM) predicts heavy rains accompanied by severe thunderstorms in the provinces of Manica, Tete, Sofala, Zambézia, Niassa and Nampula from today to Monday.
The phenomenon is due to the intense atmospheric instability resulting from the influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone, associated to air masses coming from the Congo region.
INAM calls for precautionary and safety measures to be taken in view of the risk associated with rains and thunderstorms.
