From the end of the afternoon today until the early hours of tomorrow, the provinces of Maputo and Gaza may register moderate to heavy rainfall (30 to 50 millimetres in 24 hours) accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds gusting up to 60 kilometres per hour, a statement from the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) warns.
According to INAM, in Maputo province, moderate to heavy rains may affect the districts of Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude and Manhiça, and the cities of Maputo and Matola. In Gaza province, the bad weather may affect the districts of Chicualacuala, Chigubo, Mabalane, Chibuto, Massingir, Limpopo, Chonguene, Massangena, Mapai, Guijá, Mandlakazi and Bilene, and the cities of Chókwè and Xai-Xai.
INAM also forecasts that, at sea, the wind may give rise to choppy waters with waves of up to 3.5 metres between 24 to 27 degrees South from the end of today (Tuesday).
