Heavy rain, thunderstorms and winds with strong gusts may affect the provinces of Manica and Sofala, today and tomorrow, warns the National Institute of Meteorology (INAM).
In the province of Manica, the most affected districts may be Mussorize, Machaze, Sussundenga, Gondola and Macate.
In Sofala, the districts of Búzi, Chibabava and Nhamatanda will be the most affected by the bad weather.
INAM predicts the occurrence of moderate rainfall (30 to 50 millimetres in 24 hours), locally strong (above 50 millimetres in 24 hours), reads a statement from the institution.
The remaining provinces in central Mozambique, as well as those in the northern region of the country, may experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong gusts of wind during the same period, according to INAM.
