Mozambique: BIOFUND participates in the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi

The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM) is forecasting a heat wave in Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane provinces until Friday.
The districts of Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude, Manhiça and the cities of Maputo and Matola will be affected, while in Gaza province, Chicualacuala, Massangena, Mabalane, Chibuto, Mandlakazi, Bilene, Massingir, Guijá and Chókwé and Xai-Xai districts will be affected.
In Inhambane, the heatwave will affect the districts of Zavala, Inharrime and Panda.
Temperatures will rise to around 32 to 34 degrees Celsius, accompanied by strong gusts of wind. The same weather system is expected to affect the provinces of Sofala, Manica, Zambézia and Tete, with temperatures ranging from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius.
INAM calls on all citizens to take precautionary measures against the risks associated with high temperatures.
