Mozambique: Parliament authorises President Chapo's state visit to Tanzania
The Mozambique National Institute of Meteorology foresees the occurrence of intense heat, characterised by very hot weather with temperatures ranging from 37 to 40 degrees Celsius, tomorrow Tuesday, October 20.
INAM further warns of the possibility of showers or moderate rains, thunderstorms and winds with gusts starting from the end of the day on Tuesday, in the south of the county ( cities and districts listed below).
Risk areas
Maputo City and Province: distritcs of Matutuíne, Boane, Namaacha, Marracuene, Moamba, Magude, Manhiça and Maputo and Matola cities;
Gaza Province: districts of Chicualacuala, Chigubo, Mabalane, Chibuto, Massingir, Limpopo, Chonguene, Massangena, Mapai, Guijá, Mandlakazi, Bilene, Chókwé and Xai-Xai cities;
Inhambane Province: mainly in the districts of Inharrime, Jangamo, Homoine, Panda, Funhalouro, Inhassoro, Massinga, Morrumbene, Zavala, Mabote and the city of Maxixe.
For the central region of Mozambique, INAM forecasts the continuation of hot to very hot weather, where there is the possibility of showers, severe thunderstorms and winds with local gusts until Wednesday, 21st of October 2020.
At sea, the wind may create sea waves and generate waves that can reach a height of 4.0 metres, south of the parallel 22 degrees south.
This phenomenon may cause movement of dusts and sand; roofs of precarious houses may become loose and objects may be dragged; risk of trees falling and also risk of power and telecommunications poles falling; possible dragging of small boats; reduced visibility at sea.
For Niasssa, Cabo Delgado and Nampula INAM forecasts partly cloudy to cloudy skies with the possible occurrence of weak rainfall and gentle to moderate winds.
