Cyclone-battered Mayotte bracing for new tropical storm

The PRM in Tete on Wednesday detained a woman accused of promoting the riots that ended with Canongola market vendors setting up barricades on National Road Number 7.
The 28-year-old woman and seven other vendors at the market are said to have acted outside the law in retaliation for the municipality’s alleged lack of service provision. [More details in the video below].
According to PRM spokesperson Feliciano da Câmara, canine and rapid intervention police were mobilized to contain the demonstration. which ended up with these vendors being driven to the police sub-unit
Da Câmara explained that investigations had concluded that the woman now being held was the promoter of the riot on National Road Number 7, and will be held responsible for her actions.
Da Câmara added that legal procedures were being followed, and the process had already been forwarded for the administration of justice.
The atmosphere at the Canongola market in the Samora Machel neighborhood has now returned to normal, with vendors carrying out their activities in a calm and orderly manner.
