Watch: Outrage in Machava over child rape on tape – Miramar

A girl under 13 of age has been allegedly raped by a group of neighbours in Machava, Matola municipality, after being given soft drinks with sedatives, TV Miramar reports.

According to witnesses interviewed below, the group has allegedly done this to other victims. They further claim that the group includes members of the police – “PIC-eiros”, the woman interviewed below calls them.

The video of the act has been circulating on social media and generating outrage. Miramar shows on the report below what it describes ” is a screen grab from the video [circulating on social media], where the man and his friends commit collective rape”.

Those who live in the area in question say the minor was not the only victim of the alleged rapists, who they claim rape and film incidents for blackmail, making the victims de facto sex slaves. This time, the victim is a 13-year-old. There are indications that there is a member of the police in this group.

The case is spurring indignation across the board, with elders ruing the incident while noting that information and communication technologies actually help clarify and provide evidence as to the facts. “With these phones and videos is how we find out. After all, this one here is a “son of the house”, is a neighbour. So the mothers are like this because. of the children… They always tell the children to go buy bread, go buy sugar, to then [risk] find out that they are involved in these bad things,” says a man interviewed by Miramar.

Children have been threatened to remain silent. “You don’t speak, don’t speak. We will kill you,” a witness tells TV Miramar in the video report below.

The residents of the neighbourhood in question claim that one of those involved walks the neighbourhood as if nothing had happened. This is why they have publicised the story and decided to speak out:”We want the justice”.
